The New York City Church of Christ shared Broward Church's A Call For Prayer.

Broward Church

On February 14, 2018, a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland rattled our community. Seventeen people were killed and fourteen more hospitalized. Among the victims were students, teachers and faculty members. As our community continues to mourn the loss of life and bears the burden of grief, we as the Broward Church (and all who will join) have decided to call on God for guidance, wisdom, comfort, peace and hope. Beginning February 26, the Broward Church is calling for a time of prayer and fasting for those effected by the Parkland shooting. We are calling on you as a covenant member of our community and all those who are willing to join us to fast from one meal per day for the next seventeen days, one for every life lost in this tragedy. Below you will find a list of names of all of the victims who lost their lives. Let’s pray together that we can be a light to these families, that God will provide for them supernatural comfort and a peace that surpasses understanding. Although we continue to live in challenging times, we as a community of faith can make an impact by praying and fasting for these families… Will you join us? These are the victims of the Parkland shooting (Followed by the date that we will be fasting for them) Alyssa Alhadeff, 14 (February 26) Scott Beigel, 35 (February 27) Martin Duque, 14 (February 28) Nicholas Dworet, 17 (March 1) Aaron Feis, 37 (March 2) Jaime Guttenberg, 14 (March 3) Chris Hixon, 49 (March 4) Luke Hoyer, 15 (March 5) Cara Loughran, 14 (March 6) Gina Montalto, 14 (March 7) Joaquin Oliver, 17 (March 8) Alaina Petty, 14 (March 9) Meadow Pollack, 18 (March 10) Helena Ramsay, 17 (March 11) Alex Schachter, 14 (March 12) Carmen Schentrup, 16 (March 13) Peter Wang, 15 (March 14)
